Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is an assisted living, and how is it different from other senior care options (like a nursing home)?

Rochester Presbyterian Home’s communities are licensed by the Department of Health as assisted living residences, including special needs assisted living and enhanced assisted living.

Assisted living communities are residential facilities designed for seniors who need assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) but want to maintain a level of independence. They offer a combination of housing, personalized support services, and healthcare as needed.

Assisted living is distinct from independent living and nursing homes—providing a middle ground that offers support with daily tasks, while allowing residents to maintain a sense of autonomy and engage in social activities.

  • Do you require a security deposit?

A security deposit equal to one month’s rent is required upon admission.
